At Coupintech, we aim to provide quality digital products and professional technology services.

This Refund and Returns Policy explains how refunds, cancellations and returns are handled for products and services purchased through Coupintech.

Nothing in this policy is intended to remove or restrict any rights that consumers may have under applicable South African law.

1. Digital Products

Because digital products can be delivered electronically and may be accessed or downloaded immediately, refunds may be limited after a product has been accessed or downloaded, subject to applicable consumer rights and the circumstances of the purchase.

Before purchasing a digital product, customers should carefully review:

  • The product description;
  • File format;
  • Compatibility information;
  • Included features;
  • Licensing conditions; and
  • Any other information supplied on the product page.

2. Faulty or Defective Digital Products

If a digital product is technically defective, corrupted, substantially different from its advertised description or cannot reasonably be used for its intended purpose, please contact us.

We may first attempt to:

  1. Provide a replacement file;
  2. Provide a corrected version;
  3. Resolve the technical issue; or
  4. Provide another appropriate remedy.

If the issue cannot reasonably be resolved, a refund may be considered in accordance with applicable law.

3. Digital Product Compatibility

Customers are responsible for checking whether a digital product is compatible with their system before purchase where compatibility information has been provided.

For example, compatibility may depend on:

  • Operating system;
  • Software version;
  • WordPress version;
  • Browser;
  • Device;
  • File format;
  • Plugin requirements; or
  • Other third-party software.

A refund will not necessarily be provided simply because a product is incompatible with a system where the compatibility requirements were clearly disclosed before purchase.

4. Services

Professional services are different from physical or digital products.

Once work has commenced, refunds may depend on:

  • The stage of the project;
  • Work already completed;
  • Third-party costs already incurred;
  • The agreed scope;
  • The applicable quotation or agreement; and
  • Applicable South African consumer law.

If a client cancels a project after work has commenced, Coupintech may be entitled to payment for work already performed and legitimate costs already incurred.

5. Deposits

Where a project requires a deposit or upfront payment, the deposit may be applied towards work performed and project costs.

A deposit is not automatically refundable simply because the client later decides not to continue with the project.

However, any mandatory consumer rights that apply will remain unaffected.

6. Client-Caused Cancellation

A refund may be reduced or unavailable where cancellation occurs after Coupintech has already:

  • Started development;
  • Completed design work;
  • Purchased third-party services;
  • Registered a domain;
  • Purchased hosting;
  • Purchased software licences;
  • Created project assets;
  • Performed consultation or strategy work; or
  • Allocated significant resources to the project.

The amount payable or refundable will depend on the circumstances and applicable agreement.

7. Third-Party Costs

Third-party expenses may not be refundable where Coupintech has already incurred those costs on behalf of the client.

Examples include:

  • Domain registration;
  • Hosting;
  • Premium software;
  • Plugins;
  • Themes;
  • API services;
  • Advertising spend;
  • Stock images;
  • External licences; and
  • Other third-party services.

Where a third party provides a refund, that refund may be passed on to the client where applicable.

8. Design and Revision Disputes

A customer may not necessarily receive a refund simply because they do not like a completed design where the work was produced according to the agreed brief and included revision process.

We encourage clients to provide clear requirements and feedback throughout the project.

Where the delivered work materially differs from the agreed scope, we will make reasonable efforts to correct the issue.

9. Marketing and SEO Services

Marketing, advertising and SEO services involve strategy and ongoing work.

Payment for work already performed is not automatically refundable because a client does not achieve a particular commercial outcome.

Coupintech does not guarantee:

  • Specific sales;
  • Specific leads;
  • Specific advertising results;
  • Specific Google rankings;
  • Specific website traffic;
  • Specific social media growth; or
  • A specific return on advertising spend.

10. Physical Products

If Coupintech sells physical products, returns and refunds will be handled according to the product’s condition, the reason for the return and applicable South African consumer law.

Customers should contact us as soon as reasonably possible if a physical product is:

  • Defective;
  • Damaged;
  • Incorrect; or
  • Not as described.

We may request photographs, order information or other evidence to assess the claim.

11. Refund Requests

To request a refund, contact:

immanuel@coupintech.co.za

Please include:

  • Full name;
  • Email address used for the purchase;
  • Order or invoice number;
  • Product or service purchased;
  • Date of purchase;
  • Reason for the refund request; and
  • Supporting information where applicable.

12. Refund Assessment

Each refund request will be assessed according to:

  • The nature of the product or service;
  • Whether the product has been accessed or downloaded;
  • Whether work has commenced;
  • Work already completed;
  • Any applicable agreement;
  • Third-party costs incurred;
  • The reason for the refund request; and
  • Applicable South African law.

Submitting a refund request does not guarantee that a refund will be approved.

13. Approved Refunds

Where a refund is approved, it will generally be processed using the original payment method where reasonably possible.

The time taken for the funds to appear in the customer’s account may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.

14. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Customers are encouraged to contact Coupintech before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback so that we can attempt to resolve the issue.

Unauthorised or fraudulent chargebacks may be investigated and may result in suspension of access to relevant products or services while the matter is being investigated.

Nothing in this section limits any rights available to consumers under applicable law.

15. Consumer Rights

Coupintech operates in South Africa and intends to comply with applicable consumer protection requirements.

Where the Consumer Protection Act or another applicable law provides a customer with a right to cancel, return, repair, replace or receive a refund, those rights will apply to the extent required by law.

This policy should therefore be read together with applicable South African legislation.

16. Policy Changes

Coupintech may update this Refund and Returns Policy from time to time.

The latest version published on this website will indicate the date on which it was last updated.
